Challenge

Create a space that truly amazes.

When developing this project, NUMO (developer company) kept asking: Do our decisions inspire awe? What are we doing differently? How will we surprise people?


To answer these questions, we combined practicality with wonder. We remove unnecessary distractions so guests can fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere of a forest dream.

Insight

The older we get,
the harder it is to be surprised.

Solution

A hotel in the forest.

Not just in the forest — part of it. Like a “treehouse” where hundreds of people can play at once, each finding their own favorite corner.

Mission

To help guests rediscover the feeling of childlike wonder.

A time without stress or deadlines, problems or complications. When you live for joy and discovery. When you just want to stretch your arms wide and run towards the wind.

Approach

A playground for families.

This is Ribas Hotels Group’s new approach to creating projects: building “playgrounds” where adults can enjoy themselves exactly the way they like. The main rule — give guests the freedom to be themselves.

Concept

Melis is the forest’s continuation. Forest’s dream.
Almost like reality, but just a little different. Here, the forest gains a personality. Guests interact with it through the hotel and surrounding areas. This is where new stories unfold — expressed in installations, art objects, and other immersive details.

Naming

Melis is a combination of two Ukrainian words: “honey” and “forest.”
It welcomes guests into its sweet, lingering embrace. Every corner is designed to immerse them in a dreamy woodland where dreams become reality, and nature reveals its most beautiful side.

Visual Identity

A magical identity that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a forest fairy tale. Bushes and trees take on new, almost unrecognisable shapes, while the logo invites you to dive into the forest’s dreams.
